Useful tips
  • Useful tips for motorcyclists of all ages (some are more useful than others)
  • Check your tyre pressures weekly. They’re the most critical thing to affect your bikes handling
  • UseWD40 to clean your bikes wheels just spray it on leave for 2-3 minutes and wipe off but be careful not to get it on your tyres and discs
  • If you’ve just been knocked off your bike by a poxy car driver do the right thing (if you are able) and floor the driver with your carbon encrusted glove and if you are sued you can plead that you were dazed and thought you were protecting yourself
  • Yamaha R1’s made in 2001 do wicked backfires if the standard exhaust can is fitted. Just cruise along in third gear , close the throttle and kill the switch for about 4-5 seconds then flick it back to live again and kaboom. Best used in traffic or tunnels
  • A thin film of washing up liquid on the inside of your visor makes a great antifog layer
  • If you forget your side stand plate and have to park on soft ground, find an empty drinks can and put that under it.
  • Carry a camera when you ride so that if you come off your bike due to poor road conditions (IE pot hole) you can take a picture and report it.
